You are a great artist! I was a barber for over 20 years and 7 months ago I started working three days a week at a old fashion shop in a very wealthy community. I even brought Clients to this “hard to find barber shop.” The co workers said, Jackie you are the best female barber who can “shave” too! Yes, I am an expert at it, but it has NO challenge mentally for me. I am in my 40;s ok 44 and I need mental stimulation! Like your writings! I love it. I love it. So I quit because of different reasons but one is that while the owner who use to work there, kept calling daily to “check up on us barbers” like we are 2! Then the other barbers, well, “they know it all” just ask them! They treat women like – well – women. I don’t do that. I am a tomboy! Love ME

Have you ever considered opening your own shop? You seem like someone willing to put a lot of effort into your endeavors.

I owned a shop for 12 years. I sold it all and closed my shop in 2007. I then went to college and got an AA in Paralegal, and cannot find work in it. I am so good at it. I have inturned for attorneys and did probate/wills/trusts/etc…but was boring. I keep applying but no one offered me a job. So Now that puts me into Security work. I was working sundays and now the company is getting me in FULL TIME. Yippie. So, that is where I am at. Ugh.

If it makes you feel any better, I work for an HR consulting company and business is way up, which means people are starting to hire again. It’s hard not to get frustrated, but I’m sure someone with your work ethic will rebound.
